Fermignano

Of Roman origins and founded on the banks of the Metaurus running through it, the ancient Castrum Firmignani castle was the Duchy of Urbino. The town lies a few kilometers from the Plains of San Silvestro, where in 207 BC Battle of the Metaurus between the Romans and Carthaginians ended.
