Piobbico is situated on the slopes of Monte Nerone, along the river Candigliano. The village stretches until it reaches the castle, built on the highest hill. The castle was built around the thirteenth century and was inhabited by the family Brancaleoni, who, over the centuries, turned it to give it its current appearance, characterized by various architectural styles, and the presence of stucco and frescoes, all works by Francesco Brandani.
