Belforte is located in the extreme province of Pesaro and Urbino, where the territory is wedged between the lands of Tuscany, Marche separated from the peaks of the Sasso Simone and Simoncello.
Here, a wedge of rock overlooking the village, the Castello di Belforte stands, a medieval manor of Lombard origin, which owes its present appearance to the architect Francesco di Giorgio Martini.
